The Professor
Grayson Boucher aka 'The Professor' earned his nickname from the original voice of Streetball, MC Duke Tango, in 2003 for 'schooling people on the court.' The Professor's grew up in Keizer, Oregon, a suburb Salem, the state's capitol city. He was introduced to the game of basketball at 3 years old by his father who's passion for the game rubbed off on him. Though having a very high offensive skill set as a youth, Professor was often overlooked by coaches and wasnt ever considered a major prospect because of his small size. In 2002 he recieved All State offers after his Senior year and first year of varsity basketball at Salem Academy Christian. He played 1 year of junior college basketball at Chemeketa Community College after that. It wasn't until 2003 when he took his game to new heights and won a national competition on ESPN. The show's purpose was to seek out the next streetball legend to be a part of the And 1 Mixtape tour. From there he was birthed on the streetball scene which enabled him tour all over the United States, in over 30 countries worldwide, be featured movies/commercials and develop a worldwide fan base. He was featured on the show 'Streetball' that aired on ESPN for 8 seasons. Now he is currently playing for the new face of streetball called 'Ball Up Streetball', touring worldwide and airing on Fox Sports.
Deuce caught up with the Professor and asked him a couple questions:
What is your favorite Deuce watch besides the Professor watch?
Its hard for me to narrow it down to just one other. I'd have to say the G1 model in all white is a favorite of mine because it can go with any outfit you have on and is super clean. Its appropriate for working out, a dressy event or just everyday wearing. Another favorite of mine would have to be the all red G2 model because it matches perfect with Ball Up gear which I rock almost everyday.
Quote of the day? .
"Talent is God given. Be Humble. Fame is man-given. Be grateful. Conceit is self-given. Be careful."
Favorite NBA Team and why?
Although, growing up a Blazer fan....my favorite team going into this next year is the Golden State Warriors. Because long time friend of mine RIP Troy 'Escalade' Jackson's brother Mark Jackson is coaching there. And he is someone I look up to.
What is it like being a Deuce athlete?
Its awesome!...First off, there's no deying its an incredible product. Secondly a great group of humble people corprately, which I respect tons. And its an honor to be aligned with the rest of Team Deuce, which is made of of some incredible world class athletes and trainers. #TeamDeuce
